ABSTRACT

The study was conducted to know the groundwater potential within the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria, to identify groundwater potential zones using information from airborne magnetic and remote sensing datasets. The study revealed a spatial variation in the distribution of groundwater potential zones based on the combined structural density map produced. The results show very high groundwater potentials covering about 7.28%, high groundwater potentials cover 18.82%, moderate groundwater potentials cover 27.72%, low groundwater potentials cover 27.19%, and very low groundwater potentials cover 18.99% within the study area. The study provides valuable information for decision-making in terms of policy formation processes and the development of appropriate groundwater management strategies in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
